I have to admit though that as much as I love WhiCo, it lost its... charm a bit. Maybe because they focus more on the supporting cast now, so Peter has more scenes with Diana now and Neal with Mozzie whereas before, it was more about Peter and Neal. Or maybe it's because Neal got over Kate's death way too fast, like lightning fast. We've seen him grieve for what? 4 scenes? And now he's the same old, same old. I loved the S2 premiere because of those little grieving!Neal touches, but since then nothing, nada, zip. I know that Neal hides his feelings from everybody - even from himself - but I hoped for at least... something.

Day 08 - A book everyone should read at least once:

Well, I would love to be all deep and profound and say, I don't know, the Bible, but I won't - I have read the Bible and it made me growl in anger at the blatant misogyny. So I won't try and pretend to be intellectual. But I will go back to my childhood and say...

"The Count of Monte Cristo" by Alexander Dumas, my favorite novel of his - and I read every book he had written that I could get my hands on, starting with "The Three Musketeers" and "Robin Hood" and ending with all the 13 volumes of "Joseph Bolsamo"! - and probably the only one that actually ends well (well, "Georges" doesn't end badly either, IIRC). Also, it's often called "the first modern thriller" ever and I so agree. The book starts really slow, the first volume is just the set-up, after all. But then it gets going and wow, I'm still smitten.

The best adaptation? The one with Richard Chamberlain. Don't even look at the pile of dog poo that's the TV adaptation with Gérard Depardieu, na pfui and ick!
