SLASH --> McShep, AU: "The Hotline Series" by nixa_jane. Summary: They kept running these corny little phone sex infomercials that had seemed really pathetic and funny at one o'clock, and somehow had morphed into 'good idea' by three. Length: three stories.

Every time he learned about some odd job John had taken at some point, he would write it down on a list. So far, he'd learned about John's career in modeling, bartending, a brief two day stint as an accountant (before he got bored), a helicopter pilot flying tours over the Grand Canyon, voice acting as Steve the Penguin on Saturday morning cartoons and various radio commercials, and, of course, that one time he was a sex telemarketer.

Yes, I love AU McShep romances very much, thanks for asking! ;)

Jo Graham posted the summary of her SGA book "Death Game" in her LJ:

Lieutenant Colonel John Sheppard wakes up on an alien world in the wreckage of a Puddle Jumper - and can't remember how he got there. Putting the pieces together, he discovers his team is scattered across a tropical archipelago, unable to communicate with each other or return to the Stargate. Prisoners of the local population, Sheppard and Teyla are taken as tribute to the planet's Wraith overlord, while McKay, Ronon, and Zelenka mount a rescue.

Doesn't that sound just awesome? I can't wait for this book, like really!

Aaron Rosenberg's SGA "Hunt and Run":

Ronon Dex is a mystery. His past is a closed book and he likes it that way. But when the Atlantis team trigger a trap that leaves them stranded on a hostile world, only Ronon's past can save them - if it doesn't kill them first. As the gripping tale unfolds, we return to Ronon's earliest days as a Runner and meet the charismatic leader who transformed him into a hunter of Wraith. But grief and rage can change the best of men and it soon becomes clear that those Ronon once considered brothers-in-arms are now on the hunt - and that the Atlantis team are their prey. Unless Ronon can out hunt the hunters, Colonel Sheppard's team will fall victim to the vengeance of the V'rdai.

The preliminary release dates for the SGA/SG-1 books in 2010 should be:
February - SGA - Brimstone
April - SGA - Hunt and Run
May - SGA - Dead End
May - SG-1 - The Power Behind the Throne
June - SG-1 - Four Dragons
July - SGA - Death Game

Looks great - unfortunately, I have no faith that Fandemonium will actually uphold this schedule, this year taught me to a lesson *sigh*

I've already rec'ed this podfic once but now the reader added another part, so here we go again!

SLASH --> J2, AU: "Break Loose 'Verse" by technosage, read by juice817. Summary: Jared's a dude ranch owner-operator, Jensen was on Supernatural but it washed out in a year, so he's singin' back-up for Chris and Steve and finding his way. Chad drags Jared to Kane concert. the music's not bad, better than he thought, but he finds something he likes much better. Length: 3 parts, approximately 2hrs 10mins altogether.

Kissing and cuddling's for girls, anyway.

Girls and Jared Padalecki apparently, because Jared drags him through the front door, mammoth paw around the back of his neck, and locks his lips over Jensen before he's even said 'hey'. And Jensen's not smiling into the kiss, but that's only because Jared's got his mouth fucked wide with his tongue. Otherwise, he'd probably be smiling soft, eyelashes on his cheekbones, like the big damned girl that he is.

Yes, I have a soft spot for J2 AUs and for juice817's reading ;)

Ah, the good old days of S1, when there was no shipping on-screen and everybody was having fun, exploring the new galaxy and kicking Wraith-butt! I watched it with my mom this time because I needed to show her the glory of McKay and Sheppard (then I put on Echoes :P).

This episode, this was true scifi! The perfect pilot with a lot of action and fun, with a story that made me want to see more. This is what I miss in the scifi shows these days when every writer/exec feels the need to be gritty and dark and do "art" *snorts* Please, give me explosions and space fights any day, that's why it's called SCIFI, after all. I don't need soap opera in space!

My favorite parts? Everything before they went to Teyla's planet - the whole beginning is one awesome, hilarious pile of happy goo! - and then Sheppard flooring McKay with his math knowledge! Yes, Rodney, there ARE military guys who aren't stupid, go figure!

That was what always bothered me about Jack O'Neill, the writers just made him too stupid/ignorant, whereas Sheppard's intelligence is Mensa-level high and he's not afraid to use it and play geeky with the other geeks. I think that that's one of the reasons why he's the perfect commander for a more or less civilian outpost like Atlantis - he does not bully the scientists, he geeks out together with them!

My favorite quotes? )

I love the show like crazy! \o/
