Goodies

So many goodies from so many DVDs are being leaked - from Supernatural to The Middleman - but I'm being a good girl and not clicking on the links. These extras are the cherry on top when you buy your favorite show on DVD, they are like a birthday present, something to look forward to. Getting them in advance is... spoiling the fun, I guess, at least for me :)

Oh, and how I envy you people in the US, UK, France and Germany for having Amazon. If I lived in one of the "Amazon countries" as they call the countries to where they are willing to send used goods, I would buy used books only and stuff myself to bloating. So many awesome, great, fantastic books are being sold for like $0.01 used! I don't care if a book is old or new as long as I can read the letters. Watch me pout here :(

I'm translating Patricia Briggs' "Moon Called" at the moment, and I just love this quote: I have a degree in history, which is one of the reasons I'm an auto mechanic.

That's so... ME! But I would say: "I have a degree in history, which is one of the reasons I'm a translator." University pummeled my love for history right out of my hide, thank you very much. Since receiving my degree, I haven't been able to even look at anything history-related! *shudders*

I decided to scrap 95% of my icons - it was time! So far, I replaced all the SGA ones and deleted over 30 other icons. Now to make new ones! *cracks knuckles*

Mark from Fandemonium finally answered my question about the delays in the release schedule of the SG-1 and SGA books. And his reply? Wasn't really encouraging:

SG1-14 "Valhalla" by Tim Waggoner October 2009
SGA-12 "Brimstone" by David Niall Wilson & Patricia Lee Macomber November 2009
SGA-13 "Dead End" by Chris Wraight December 2009

Yes, two SGA books but nothing at all for the next three months! That's depressing. I hope that they'll at least keep this schedule.

Synopsis: Escaping the heat and heartbreak of New York City for a summer in rural Pennsylvania sounded like the perfect plan to Nicky D'Amico. Little did he know that what began as a heavenly idea would turn out to be a hell of a job!

Review: Laugh-out-loud humor, that description fits this book perfectly. Nicky's hilarious inner monologue, whacked characters and Paolo's very unique wisdom that he loves to share with Nicky - and with everybody in the vicinity - make this book a keeper. The case was quite interesting and I loved the little sneak-peek into the background of a theater production, with Nicky as the only sane person around. The poor, poor thing. Very funny! The author's style reminds me a lot of Steve Kluger's.

1x02, Spellingg Bee: The first episode with a tiny bit h/c! It was awesome, wasn't it? And - Juliet's introduction!

1x03, Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Piece: Hey, Gina Holden! I loved how Gus whimpered when they discovered the body. And then he caught the flowers! And Chief Vick was awesome in this one! I also loved that they mentioned what happened with Anna Dudek's character. Oh, and I love McNab!

Hey, speaking of McNab - the Canadian actor, Sage Brocklebank, is 6'5" and he's also a professional poker player! I'm glad that they decided to keep him as a recurring character, even though his stint should have been just a one-time thing!
