GateWorld.net posted David Hewlett's reaction to the cancellation of SGA. That man breaks my heart...

From the article:
* "I'm not ashamed to say, I love McKay," the actor told GateWorld. "I think in the same way as fans, I'm going to miss him on a weekly basis. I've really had an awful lot of fun doing that part. ... McKay is definitely one of those characters that I hope is around in some way, shape, or form for a long time. Because he really is such a pleasure to play."
- That made me so sad that I had literally tears in my eyes :'(

* In the wake of the cancellation news, former Stargate SG-1 leading man Richard Dean Anderson paid a visit to the Atlantis set. "There's something about having RDA say, 'I'm sorry that you won't be coming back next year' that kind of makes it worthwhile," Hewlett said. "I don't know why, but of everybody who said anything to me about it, I felt like he knew more than anyone what it was like to have to walk away from a character like that."
- Wow, RDA really is a gentleman. I think he understands best what it's like to make a show for so long - for him, it was first MacGyver, then Stargate SG-1 - and then walk away from that, on your own volition or because you were canceled.

* Hewlett is eager to return for 2009's Stargate Atlantis movie, and hopefully an on-going film series after that. "I think it will be nice to see it 'grow up' into a movie or a series of movies," he said. "That would be ideal! I would love to come up and do a couple of movies a year. That would be perfect."
- I think it's too optimistic to hope for more than one movie a year but it's great to know that at least David Hewlett will be always on board or that he will do what's humanly possible to be there.

And another article: David Nykl and Chuck Campbell talked about the cancellation at the Creation Con.

David Nykl killed me with this: "On Tuesday they announced it to the cast, and I wasn't there," Nykl said. "So I came in the next day and I was getting ready like I usually do, and there was this weird mood on set. So I asked what was going on. And it was actually Chuck who told me! It's a shock. It's like any big news. There's a process you go through. You're sad, you're angry. You're worried about what's going to happen. There's a sense that it's a real shame. The cast and crew have been together so long that it's a real blast doing the show."

I think that it really shows just how upset the whole cast and crew is about the cancellation :(

I'm not sure if there are any fans of the Canadian TV show Flashpoint on my flist, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, the Canadian broadcaster CTV ordered a 2nd season of the series featuring Enrico Colantoni as Sgt. Gregory Parker!

Joseph Mallozzi said that Ivan Bartok, the one filming all the extras on the SGA DVDs, "has a special feature surprise in store for you in the season 5 box set." Now I'm curious! X)
