I finally, finally caught up. Go me.
Both Irene Adlers were defeated because they fell for Sherlock Holmes, because of their sentimental feelings for him, but one is bashed and her writers are called names (Sherlock) and one is celebrated and her writers are called progressive (Elementary). I guess I’m thick because I see no difference between them, neither won and both let their feelings for him cloud their judgment. Neither is as ACD wrote her - not interested in Sherlock Holmes and free thanks to her own skills. So, why is only Sherlock's Irene bashed? This angers me muchly.
And now back to not comparing the shows.
The Irene is Moriarty twist was kinda cool. Though I feel slightly robbed. Irene and Moriarty are both great characters. And now we get only one because they smooshed them together. I would've preferred for them to be two, two amazingly smart people, not just one. I wouldn't have even minded a female Moriarty, not at all, but Irene? It feels... like we actually lost a great character in there somewhere thanks to the smooshing.
I like Joan, she's awesome and becoming more and more so as time goes by. But could Sherlock please look less like a hobo in S2? It's really off-putting, the way he looks so... must and unshaven. And the clothes... you know who he reminds me off? Steve Urkel *hangs head*
My favorite part of the show is the friendship between Sherlock and Joan. I hope it doesn't turn romantic because their almost sibling-like relationship is really lovely.
And I'm done with Elementary till the fall!
