Womb is one weird-ass movie, let me tell you. It's about a woman, Rebecca, who loses the love of her life, Tommy, and you can say she goes a bit mad. Because she bears his clone and raises him as her own son - all the while having more than motherly feelings for him. Told ya it was weird. And creepy. It's slightly sci-fi, what with the cloning of people, and slightly horror-ish because it takes place at the North Sea, in a cottage right there, on the beach, with the howling wind and perpetual cold and mostly, it's just Rebecca and clone!Tommy. The atmosphere? Cold, lonely, desperate, creepy, horror-ish. Sheesh on a pogo stick.
What's amazing about the movie? Eva Green as Rebecca and Matt Smith as Tommy. They are fantastic! I really need to get my hands on other movies Matt Smith has made.
To sum it up, not for the faint-hearted because it deals with stuff like obsession, incest and hints of pedophilia, though it's never presented as okay or acceptable since clones and especially incestuous clones are shunned in the movie.
