Well. It was a good movie - but it really didn't live up to the hype, IMHO. I feel about Skyfall the way I felt about Looper - good stuff but I expected more.
The first half was pretty boring. It didn't really get going till Silva appeared. I loved the way Javier Bardem portrayed him and I'm not even a fan of his. He was really, really awesome. My favorite scene in the whole movie was the first one between Silva and Bond, that was really, really good! No wonder both actors enjoyed it so much.
But my biggest problem? I didn't like ANY of the women in this film. Not M - as Bond said, she should've trusted him, she kept making one bad judgment call after another; not Sévérine - too much of a vulnerable femme fatale; and especially Moneypenny! God, her incessant smirking got on my nerves. She kept grinning all the time, even when she came to apologize to Bond for fucking shooting him! "Oh, I guess I should say 'sorry'?" *smirk* What the fuckity fuck! You almost kill your colleague and you think it's hilarious? Wow. Just wow. I didn't mind their banter afterwards but not even one earnestly meant apology?
Whom I really loved was Mallory. The new M is fantastic! And the banter between Bond and Q. Though Q was a bit too much of an arrogant knowitall. Oh, and is it just me or does Tanner remind anyone else of Marvel's Agent Coulson? Not a big part but very likable.
The action was good but definitely not Casino Royale good. The rest though... I just missed the amazing women of Quantum Solace, Fields and Camille. I know that people in general hate QoS but the female characters were amazing. Here... eh.
So yeah, I would rate it 6/10. I expected much more from a Bond movie.
