Merlin 501-503

katikatI'm really enjoying this season, as much as I enjoyed the beginning of S4. I just hope it doesn't devolve into martyr!Gwen again, like S4 did *cringes*
501+502:
-- I loved, truly, truly loved that Arthur noticed how upset Merlin was. And not just that, he actually went out of his way to ask him what was wrong. Those scenes were wonderful.
-- Arthur and Merlin's banter! Like, at the beginning, when they argued about where Gwen was, that was funny.
-- I'm not sure about Mordred. I'm a bit tired of the whole "a traitor in Camelot" storyline.
-- I like Gwen as the queen. And I like that her marriage to Arthur is pretty much background material - I hope it STAYS in the background! The show should be as it is right now, about Merlin and Arthur, everybody else is there to support these two characters.
-- I loved the bit with the dragon - can't remember how to spell her name! - how gentle Merlin was with her, that was sweet. And it also showed a more human side of Morgana. Though it feels like both Merlin and Morgana are shuffling their feet in one spot: he hides his magic, she hates everybody non-magical. No progress at all.
503:
-- Quite the funny thing, Arthur showed more emotions when Merlin was threatened than Gwen. Seriously, dude, it's your wife. What about a kiss or a bit of hand-holding. Not that I complain, mind you, it just feels like "saying, not showing" with the "I love her more than my life" bit. So far, it feels to me like he married her because he really wanted her - and now that the honeymoon phase is over, he's clinging to what he had felt to her before, hence more talking than showing.
-- Loved the magic reveal to Uther. And that Arthur rushed to Merlin's rescue.
-- Merlin sneezing and their banter at the beginning was hilarious, just like the last scene!
-- A good episode, don't understand why people are calling it attrocious *shrugs*
