JGL and Tom Hardy on DVDs

Now that I'm done with my "3x with JGL" thing, I'm looking for more stuff on DVD, so I need your advice, fans of JGL and Tom Hardy - or actually any actor/movie you think I might like (What I don't like? Historical stuff and movies in which "my" actor's character bites it!). What movies do you think I should get on DVD next?
Regarding JGL, I still need to get Mysterious Skin, The Lookout and Uncertainty.
Regarding Tom Hardy, I plan to buy This Means War, Warrior and Stuart: A Life Backwards (yeah, yeah, I know he bites it in this film but it looked REALLY good, otherwise). I might also get Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy (I really didn't imagine Ricky Tarr looking like THAT when I read the book, he came across more like an arrogant twink than a broken, sad man - Tom Hardy made me actually LIKE Ricky Tarr, go figure!) and Rocknrolla.
Any other suggestion?

Date: 2012-09-24 05:31 pm (UTC)Stuart and TTSS are my favs of Tom in your list. Stuart will rip your heart out but it's still a heartwarming touching movie and one of Tom's best performances (as well as Benidect Cumberbatch) - so so different than Bane or Bronson. Same goes for his portrayal of Rikki Tarr in TTSS. That is an amazing movie period but not for a pick me up.
I liked This Means War but I just wanted so much more from it... I really hated how it was shot. Everyone and everything looks splotchy. and I saw it opening night at the theater!!
Rocknrolla made me laugh so hard and it is the only film that made me cry and it was Tom's (Handsome Bob's) reaction to telling OneTwo... well I won't spoil it but it just really... well I am just a hopeless romantic and that's all there is to that. Awesome fun movie.
Warrior is amazing but also heartbreaking - especially Tom's character.
I hate Wuthuring Heights but Tom and his fiance Charlotte do a great job. I just hate the story and was forced to read it too many times.
Layer Cake is awesome and fun. Has Daniel Craig in it and Tom but not a big part.
The Take - wow.. powerful and I recommend seeing it. Tom is great but a very very bad guy. Scary bad...
er.. ok I guess I should go back to work... sorry if I got all rambly and crap. You just keep bringing up a couple of my favorite things!!!! XD

Date: 2012-09-24 05:39 pm (UTC)With Mysterious Skin, I admired that JGL was willing to film the rape scene in such a graphic way. Ouch :(
I want to see This Means War because of the relationship between Tom Hardy and Chris Pine's characters, that's all. I heard it was kinda disappointing. But I'm a sucker for bromance!
In Rocknrolla, Tom's character tells the other guy he loves him, right? The other guy tells him no? You can spoil me, I prefer to be prepared.
Regarding Warrior, I loved that the brothers finally overcame their differences, loved the final scene, with them going down the hall together.
I always download the movie first and click through it to find out if it's my cuppa. I don't like to buy a cat in a bag.

If not.. go here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFdmiX4w1lI
You have to see the whole movie. It is excellent.
OOH edited to add that there are a couple of good fics out there with Eames' back story being he was Handsome Bob total Chav!Eames.
