White Collar 410
Sep. 20th, 2012 11:46 amWhat is it about Neal Caffrey that everybody who gets to know him starts feeling deeply protective of him? Is it some vibe he gives off? What? Mozzie, June, Elizabeth, Ellen and now Sam. Seriously, even Adler who had no qualms to kill Kate was reluctant to harm Neal.
And Peter, whose behavior sometimes reminds me of a wolf with a single cub. His need to care for Neal is almost palpable - you can see it whenever Neal gets hurt, physically or emotionally. Whenever Neal's sad, his expression turns all crestfallen and his big blue eyes redden with tears, and Peter's overcome with this need to fix it nownowNOW! Yeah, if they were werewolves, Neal would definitely be an omega.
This mid-season finale was pretty sweet. So far, my favorite mid-season ender was in S2, with the music box and Mozzie getting shot, that was pretty adrenaline fueled. This time around? Not so much but I didn't mind AT ALL because we got a beautiful episode with so many FEELINGS, sweet, sweet FEELINGS that made me all happy and giddy and mushy!
Peter's need to fix his relationship with Neal was heart-rending. They were so out of sorts and both were hurting because of that. The difference between the two panels they attended, before and after they reconciled, was immense. They are so good together when they are clicking. Their happy expressions during the second panel made me so happy!
I was so glad that they finally opened up to each other again. Peter trusted Neal to do the right thing and Neal did and got the blood for Peter to test, giving Peter his trust back. This, exactly THIS is what I love about the show so much!
I like Treat Williams but as Sam he feels terribly bland. Too bad he didn't put more feelings into his encounters with Neal at the beginning. I think it was because of Treat's decision not to get to know the whole backstory of Sam's right away but bit by bit, just like the audience. And because of that, I just didn't really feel his need to protect Neal, it was too... sudden, it came totally out of left field. Oh well, hopefully, their relationship will deepen from now on. Though maybe it seems that way to me because I feel that Neal already has a "father" - Peter. Interesting, haven't thought about it like that before. Huh...
