VINDICATED!

New York-set Elementary, due to air on Sky Living this autumn, has gone so far as giving Watson a gender-swap to differentiate itself from the BBC’s Sherlock. Johnny Lee Miller plays Holmes as an ex-pat Brit with a history of drug abuse whose father employs Lucy Liu’s live-in assistant Dr Watson to aid his recovery. Romantic complications, we’re told, ensue. Link.
I BLOODY well told you so! Back then, when Elementary was first announced and it was said that Watson would be a woman, I kept saying that it was just CBS' way to avoid a lawsuit from BBC and introduce UST without the "annoying gay vibes" - and I was bashed and called a women hating misogynist who just didn't see the beauty of this prospect and the forward thinking way of CBS that was all about female empowerment!
Well, bollocks! I told you that your reasoning was flawed! Not even one episode has aired yet and romance is already in the woods for our society compliant male Holmes and female Watson. And as much as I hate it and I wish it was ME who was wrong, at the same time I feel vindicated. Yes, I'm a bad, bad person but it feels so good to be proven right!
