McCormick & Hardcastle, Hardcastle & McCormick

These two made me very, very happy. Their chemistry was similar to Peter and Neal's from WhiCo but whereas Peter can be Neal's father or big brother or best friend or many other things, Milton Hardcastle was a real father figure for Mark McCormick. Hardcastle was the judge who put McCormick away for car theft - then brought him out of jail as a sort of prison release under his own supervision. And together they solved crimes and played basketball and bickered about everything since they lived together in Hardcastle's mansion. And it was lovely...*_*

McCormick just LOVED to complain about how terrible Hardcastle was to him, how he worked him like a slave and made him do things he didn't like - like chase after criminals! - and how he put McCormick in prison for something he didn't DO! But he also loved Hardcastle with his whole heart and he would have done anything for him. I remember the episode where Hardcastle was shot and McCormick literally broke down, he didn't know what to do without him...

And Hardcastle! McCormick was his second attempt. He already tried this... thing with another criminal and it blew into his face. But with McCormick it was different, he came to love him like a son. He financed McCormick's car races and cheered for him and he wanted McCormick to become something more than just a car racer because he knew McCormick could do it! And the few times McCormick got hurt, like when they shot him and threw his body away like garbage, Hardcastle almost blew a gasket!

This was such an awesome series... *_*
