Benedict Cumberbatch rumors

katikatSo, rumor has it that Benedict Cumberbatch might play The Master in the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who. I'm not a big fan of DW, I only really like the latest incarnation, but this? THAT WOULD BE SO COOL! Seriously! As this article - beware of possible spoilers! - says, "it’s felt Benedict is the perfect choice if schedules can work." I totally agree!
But reading the comments below the article... (ETA: Looks like the comments were removed. But try any other article and you'll see plenty of them!) I'm so tired of hearing ordinary people - and reporters too, which is even worse - bash Benedict's name and/or his looks. Are people really so shallow that if someone doesn't have the flawless, plastic surgery like Hollywood looks, they automatically deem him ugly? And even though I understand that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I don't understand how anybody...
