Things that irk me!

katikatWhy do some fanfic writers insist on making Erik Lehnsherr Polish? AFAIK, he's either German or half German, half Hungarian - depends on the comic book author - but he has never been in any of his incarnations Polish. If some authors think that him being in a Polish concentration camp makes him Polish then those people need to go back to school and learn more about WWII. It irks the heck outta me!
And another thing - when English native speakers who don't speak any foreign languages insist on using them in fics without having a beta who actually speaks that language. The wannabe Czech crap of Zelenka's in SGA fics! And now Erik's godawful German or Polish in XMFC stories. If you don't know how to spell in a certain language or how its grammar works, DON'T USE THAT LANGUAGE WITHOUT A BETA, for Christ's sake!
