I started watching Lewis which our Czech TV airs under the title Vraždy v Oxfordu (The Oxford Murders). And, of course, it wasn't until I finished watching ep 101 that I noticed I skipped ep 100, where Lewis is promoted to DI. Well, duh *head/desk* Never mind, that one will be watched tomorrow!
My favorite character is Hathaway, the walking, talking encyclopedia, who dared to study in Cambridge *gasp* I know, the horror! Someone who studied in Cambridge now dares to work for the Oxford police. Yeah, I can see him being the butt of many jokes. Anyway! I love how he notices the tiny, almost unimportant details whereas Lewis is the one who usually sees the bigger picture - once he forgets about his personal issues for a moment. Lewis, I mean. But, back to Hathaway. The thing is, the actor playing him is a bit hard to understand, the way he talks, for me as a foreigner, I mean. There were places where I had to go back and watch a scene again to understand what he was saying...
The case was quite interesting and creepy! I didn't expect that person to be behind it all. And actually, it was an ingenious plan, wasn't it?
My overall impression? I think this one's a keeper. I like the main characters, their partnership and the atmosphere of the place!
