katikatGot to see Colombiana today, the film where Zoe Saldana plays Cataleya, a young assassin hellbent on revenge.
I didn't think I would like it - the reviews were only so-so - but it's surprisingly good and Zoe Saldana is amazing in it. I actually liked it more than Angelina Jolie's Salt. I just loved how perfectly Cataleya had everything planned, to minute details! I loved her apartment, all the tech stuff and security stuff she had there! I even liked her as a kid, the way she got away from the bad guys and swore vengeance was fantastic!
Even her romance with Danny, played by Michael Vartan, was great - I have a weakness for interracial romance. And even though it was Danny through whom the FBI found her, he didn't do it on purpose and he didn't do anything dumb, it was just a series of mishaps along the way. And the ending, them on the phone having just 40 secs... His "I love you." ;_;
If you get the chance to see the film, folks, do. Don't pay attention to naysayers and bad reviews. It really is an awesome action film with an awesome female character in the main role!
