You know, I really liked Sam as a character, but I did not like what she was in the show - one point of a love triangle - so I can't exactly say I was sorry to see her go. And even though Jim was disappointed, he understood why - I loved Callie's look when he told her that he understood why Sam took the job, that women had it hard on the police force, so Sam had to jump at this chance. Yeah, Jim's a prick but from time to time, he's surprisingly understanding.
Daniel has to be the most overworked lab tech in the history of cop shows. I mean, I know that his character is there to cut corners, to make the show more dynamic so that it doesn't drown in painfully slow investigation of every detail - but every time Jim picks up his phone and calls Daniel, I have to laugh. The poor boy!
And yay for meeting Carlos' wife! If I'm not mistaken, it's the same actress who played Paloma Reynosa on NCIS. She's beautiful! And I love Carlos and her together, they have a beautiful marriage...
What I love about this show? That in 9 cases out of 10 you can't guess the culprit. There's always a twist that you didn't expect. But when Jim connects the dots, it's so clear that you can't believe you missed that. And yet, he follows the clues, he doesn't pull the solution out of thin air. No wonder Colleen has his back regardless of his... stunts. He really is that good.
