Safe Passage
Sep. 3rd, 2011 11:10 pmFinally managed to get my hands on Safe Passage, my favorite movie with Susan Sarandon, featuring many famous stars like Sam Shepard, Nick Stahl, Marcia Gay Harden, Sean Astin, Matt Keeslar, Jason London and...

... the very young and very pretty Robert Sean Leonard as Alfred!
Susan Sarandon plays Mag, the mother of seven boys and a wife separated from her husband, whose life is slowly spinning out of control. But then, one of her sons, Percy, goes missing after a bombing in Iraq and for the whole family everything grounds to a halt.
It sounds really serious and depressing, doesn't it? It's just the opposite, it's a sweet family comedy about a huge family coming back home again and dealing with each other's quirks and craziness.
I especially loved the little chats Mag had with Alfred's lover Cynthia, played by Marcia Gay Harden, a woman older than Alfred and a mother of two - I LOL every time I see the scene where Mag mentions it's her fault that Alfred's a man without passion and Cynthia goes all "Oh, I wouldn't say that," and Mag responds with this huge-eyed look, all "Really?!"
Such a feel!good movie. It makes me happy :)
