What a wonderfully intense scene. And cozy too. And intimate. There's just something about them, sitting there alone, fire burning in the fireplace...

I have to wonder if this is the scene where Charles starts to realize that it'll all go to hell - and soon to that. His expression when Erik tells him that he WILL kill Shaw and asks Charles if he has it in him to allow it. And it's all the more heartbreaking, the ending I mean, when you realize that Charles does allow it - and Erik leaves anyway...

One thing's interesting - Erik mentions that mutants are superior to humans, the better men, and that Charles himself said that. He did, in his thesis. Does it mean that Erik read it? For some reason, my inner geek finds it incredibly cool! \o/
