Erik: What an adorable lab-rat you make, Charles.
Charles: Don't spoil this for me, Erik.
Erik: I've been a lab-rat. I know one when I see one.
What a wonderful scene. Charles' epic glee that he gets to play with a new toy. Erik's "You're totally crazy, you know that, right?" look. His - and Raven's - concerned looks when Charles gasps and grips the railing tight after Hank switches Cerebro on. And did you notice how Charles grimaced uncomfortably even before Cerebro was fully on? And then a bit later, in between those recruiting scenes, there's a flash of Charles in Cerebro, staring wide-eyed into the distance...
Yeah, that's pretty much the reason why I love, LOVE fics where something goes wrong with Cerebro. I mean, come on, this literally begs for it, right?
