So, the whole bromance thing made me want to watch Mag7 again. What a great show. It's too bad it has only 22 eps - that's definitely a show that got canceled before its time. Well, at least it's out on DVD, right?

You know, I think this is the shortest TV series that has ever created such a huge fandom. I mean, Firefly is big on DVD and all that jazz, but Mag7? No one can beat Mag7 when it comes to fandom - in proportion to the length of a series, that is. When you consider how short the series was, the amount of stories written in this fandom is... staggering. People really responded to it. And the funniest thing is that it's not the canon fics that are most popular - it's the ATF universe, created by a fan for fans and featuring the Mag7 as the members of Team 7 of the Denver ATF bureau. That's... amazing! And there are still stories being written - 13 years after the show's cancellation! Wow, it's just... wow!

My favorite thing in this series is the incredible friendship between Chris and Vin. It's... stunning, a piece of beauty, really. The way these two men just click from the moment their eyes meet for the first time across the dusty road in Four Corners.

Which brings me to the pilot...

Ghost of the Confederacy: My favorite scene of the two-hour-pilot would be the one where Vin and Chris were sitting alone together, up there on the hill, the sun was setting and Vin was using his spyglass to watch out for the bad guys while telling Chris about what happened to him in Tascosa. I loved that he asked Chris to collect the reward should he get killed. The scene was so beautiful and it demonstrated everything that I love about their bromance!

And then there are Buck and JD, another two guys that click. But whereas Vin and Chris' friendship is deep and quiet, Buck and JD's reminds me of a whirlwind affair, all fun and bickering and loud noises.

Then there's Nathan and his Raine. Josiah and his penance. And Ezra...

I never figured out why so many people adored Ezra. I mean, he is the character that gets developed most, the one with the shadiest past and uncertain motives. But I've never been a big fan. Sure, he's interesting but I just don't get the obsession his character created.

This is such a wonderful show. It's high time I re-watched it!
