Watching ST:TOS
Jan. 7th, 2011 10:44 pmThe Squire of Gothos: "Stop that nonsense at once or you'll not be permitted to make any more planets." LOL! That basically sums up the episode. But it was really interesting - the squire reminded me of Q. I love it when the crew goes and explores and meets strange new cultures. That's what's sci-fi is about for me.
Arena: The beginning was excellent. But then it went downhill. I thought that Kirk's relentless pursuit of the enemy ship was rather OOC - remember the fight with the Romulans? How he held back and, you know, THOUGHT IT THROUGH first? But here he was so completely gung-ho that he didn't even try to hail the ship. And then, on the planet - honestly, that green lizard was ridiculous and the fight between them really, really lame. I mean, I'm used to some things in this show looking... weird, I get it and I don't mind, but that was really over the top lame. And what's up with Kirk having a physical fight in every episode now?
