Yesterday, I bought the TMNT CGI movie from 2007 on DVD - and man, after skimming through, I now get why peeps in this fandom ship Leonardo and Raphael so hard. I know, I know, they are turtles - first for me - and brothers - never stopped me before - but wow. The scene on the roof, when Raph broke Leo's katanas and when the baddies kidnapped Leo, and then later on, when Raph helped Leo out of the cell, so gently... Man!

I think I'll be digging for TMNT slash in the near future!

Thank god I am not the only person who sort of sees it. XD;; I haven't watched that new movie, but in the very first movie (1990 one), I saw some chemistry between them in one scene. *dies*

That thing where we're psychically connected? It's getting hilarious now. :p

So, I've been a fan of TMNT since childhood. My friend and I saw the newest TMNT movie in the theatres as soon as we could, and we were the oldest non-parents in the theatre; after the movie finished, these two boys in front of us were saying about how it was such a cool movie and how they should make more, as if they'd never heard of TMNT before (which made me sad). But what an awesome movie!

Aaaaaand I'm one of those people who ship the hell out of Raph and Leo. (And I somehow got the guts to podfic a Raph/Leo fic as my, wow, second podfic ever. I really do have no shame.) I love love love their fight scene on the roof, both because it's ridiculously shippy and because it's just amazing well-done, as fantastic as any live-action fight scene.

I can provide some links to begin, if you'd like. Off the top of my head... There's the aforementioned podfic of the story Seduction of the Darkest Whale (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/the-seduction-of-the-darkest-whale). Also with podfics are the two stories Whatta Ya Know (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/whatta-ya-know) and Never To Be Anticipated (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/never-to-be-anticipated) (read in that order), as long as you don't mind a bit of Raph/Casey action (ie: making out). All three are primarily Raph/Leo.

And of course I have to rec Sneefee, who is the premier artist in the Turtlecest community. She is simply amazing. Her website (http://sneefee.com/main.htm) has gen art and slashy art, and it's a little confusing. If you hit the "gallery" button, you'll get her gen art. Scroll down to the bottom, where there's a pic of two turtles kissing adorably, and click that pic. Click to enter the adult page, where you'll be prompted for a login and password. Login: user_tcest. Password: OT4ftw (case sensitive). Make note of the colours outlining each thumbnail because that's the pairing. Oh! And you absolutely MUST check out her ongoing comic Black And Blue (http://sneefee.com/works/under/comic/main.htm)! Very awesome. I always squee ridiculously when she updates.

As a segue, Snee has recently also contributed to the webcomic Mutant Ninja Turtles Gaiden (http://www.mntgaiden.com/en/?id=1), in which an event when they were younger tore the brothers apart, and this is the story of how they're slowly coming back together. It's angsty, gen, and can be both ridiculously awesome and just plain ridiculous at times. The artist/writer is also very obviously influenced by manga. But if nothing else, it's pretty damned interesting.

Oh, and of course there's the Turtlecest (http://community.livejournal.com/turtlecest/) community itself. Wow, this turned out to be longer than I originally thought. I guess I got a bit excited? :p

Hehe, a psychic link! That's eerie!

Thank you so much for the links, I'll definitely check them out.

I loved the scene on the roof so much. When Raph realized what he had almost done! And then, when he heard Leo screaming and he started running back! And when he helped Leo out of the cell, so gently, the way he talked to him, his voice was so kind... Aww! Even in a non-slashy way, that's so cool! So much love! \o/

That scene on the roof is absolutely gorgeous and so well-done. Slashy, not slashy, I don't care; it's still awesome, and it's easily my favourite part of the movie. Really, nearly the entire history of TMNT was leading up to that movie, and the history of Leo and Raph was leading to the roof scene, that inevitable break when Raph loses it and could have killed Leo. He really needed that to finally understand why Leo was their leader and not Raph. And Leo needed it to understand how far Raph would go to resist Leo's authority.

Okay, I need to stop analyzing things like a literature major. Oh, wait, no can do.

On a completely different note - I loved Donatello playing the tech support - "Did you try to plug it in?" - and Michelangelo with that fake turtle head! Ha!

Donnie's whole tech support thing made me lol so much because you know that it's true. Depressingly, depressingly true.

Hahaha.... I am so grateful that I'm not the only person who sees the slashy potential!! YAY!
