Patricia Briggs' "Iron Kissed", #65
Jul. 8th, 2010 03:18 pmWhen her former boss and mentor is arrested for murder and left to rot behind bars by his own kind, it's up to shapeshifting car mechanic Mercy Thompson to clear his name, whether he wants her to or not. And she'll have to choose between the two werewolves in her life-whether she wants to or not.
Review: This was a re-read for me. And the second time around it didn't quite hold up. Mercy actually annoyed me in certain spots. Like, when she insisted on being totally independent and not a part of the pack - but whenever she got into trouble, she ran to Adam or kept throwing Bran's name around. Also, she knew that she shouldn't go to Tim's house, she herself said it, that when you investigate, it's important that people know where you are and what you're doing, but did she follow her own advice? Of course not! The best part was Ben's confession and Adam's reaction to it, that was awesome. And Warren and Kyle. Mercy, on the other hand, really irked me.
