A pretty interesting thing Anne Rice said about Matt Bomer:

USA just reran the pilot of White Collar, so I got to see how the series started, and frankly loved it. I'm looking forward to July 13th when the second season starts. I'm loving Matt Bomer, and remain convinced that some day he would be a wonderful Louis de Pointe du Lac in a film. I mean if somebody has to follow Brad Pitt, it should be Matt Bomer. Link

Hm, can you imagine Matt as a vampire? An Anne Rice vampire? Well, I wrote a vampire!Neal fic, so I can, but... wow ;)

I'd rather see him as Lestat - and early Lestat at that, the fun one, the best at being bad one, not later morose and trying to be a saint Lestat *g*

And now that I'm thinking about it, it'd be great to see the very beginning on film, how Lestat was made etc.

Anne Rice "found" God. There's not likely to be anything vampire themed from her.

Well, she wasn't talking about books. But about another movie based on her books. I don't get her new found faith *shrugs* but it doesn't seem that she would mind to see another of her vampire books turned into a movie.

I tried reading her books and they just don't do it for me. But Cruise and Pitt were great in the movie :)

I would love to see Matt as Louis as Rice wrote him, not a redo of the screenplay. Matt does angst so well.

If I was going to cast Matt as Lestat, it would definitely be rocker!Lestat from the end of 'The Vampire Lestat' and 'Queen of the Damned'
Matt in leather? Singing? Lots and lots of singing? y/y/hy?

Hehe, I've never read Rice's books. I tried but it was just way too slow for my liking :P But I agree - Matt in leather and singing? *thumbs up*
