Is Misha Collins staying or not?
May. 21st, 2010 10:35 amI think this question has been answered now. Is it a spoiler or not? Better safe than sorry.
As Mo Ryan says: "Collins is listed as a series regular for Season 6 in the CW's press release." So, Castiel's officially back. And I'm glad.
Mo Ryan also talks about SPN's relocation to Friday, beware of S5 finale spoilers, though!

The Bible is clear where God stands on "total obedience" versus "rational analysis". I've also understood the second time it happened, he wanted to spare his daughter what he knew was an "And I Must Scream". I just keep remembering that Castiel, when he possessed Claire, had just returned from extensive brainwashing, but he'd grown to appreciate humans again since then.
I got irrationally attached to Jimmy. :)

"Agree to become my sockpuppet for all eternity, or your daughter will," somehow doesn't sound all that inspiring. Besides, didn't he say in MBV that Jimmy is still alive in there?
Don't you think it's wrong? I'd be happiest if Castiel says he got his BAMF mojo supercharged, so he could evict Jimmy and send him to Heaven, while Cas prances about in the body suit.

And Anna was born. After she lost her grace, she stopped being an angel and thus she didn't need a permission to enter a body and she entered an unborn child. So, Anna was living in someone else's body too.
Why would angels need a body? Because, as it was proven in 401, humans can't handle angels in their pure form, they need to... dumb themselves down, hide in a shell - but their being burns out the shell from the inside. Angels are not nice, fluffy beings in SPN, they are just as much cruel bastards as the demons.
I think that the whole host/angel or demon thing has been dealt with to exhaustion. I would prefer something new. Too many details and/or mulling over hurts the story sometimes.

Date: 2010-05-25 09:41 pm (UTC)Okay, yeah, season four vessel business was perfectly straightforward - angels need vessels to interact with humans. No problem there. It was when it turned out they need vessels to interact with one another, that's when I go bzuh? Why was it necessary for the Michael/Lucifer showdown to utilise Sam and Dean? Why did Lucifer want a vessel, period? He hates humans, and lesser angels have vocalised their distaste for meatsuits. That doesn't make sense to me.
I found Anna's situation to be convoluted, at best, as show seemed unclear on which part makes the angel - I figured an angel is (something much like) a soul with grace. Anna cast away her grace, so she became mostly human (show implied by miracling a foetus in her mother's womb), when she regained grace, her body was destroyed. Then she reappears in her "human" body, saying she called in some favours. Shaky, but I guess it works. Only it begs the question why do angels need ensouled bodies in the first place?
