You know, I really hope that Diana and Neal will have a different relatioship than Cruz and Neal - I'm sorry to say that Cruz always rubbed me wrong in her scenes with Neal, don't know why. I hope that Diana and Neal become friends, that they'll have a real friendship without UST - obviously, since she's lesbian. It would be quite the novelty on TV these days - to me it seems like these days, characters of opposite gender are obligated to have UST or bicker or get on each other's nerves, which - again - always hides UST *snorts* I want to see a real friendship between a man and a woman. Is that so much to ask?

That's adorable! I can't wait to see that scene on screen. And ditto on the friendship - that's part of the reason I love the Mentalist, I see absolutely no UST whatsoever between Jane and Lisbon, and yet they clearly care very much about one another. <3

I do hope that it'll be something touching, the scene, I mean, not just some goof.

Honestly, I see no UST on The Mentalist at all, not even between Rigsby and Van Pelt *shakes head* Never really got that pairing.

I didn't mind Lauren so much - I just wish the writers had done more with her (and that her first appearance hadn't been so uncomfortably awkward...). I liked they they had her not being impressed with Neal - that he had to work for her respect.

I agree about looking forward to friendship between Neal and Diana - hopefully the writers have a better plan for her and her relationships with the other characters. They've already done great with her and Peter so I'm hopeful they'll keep it up.

The thing with Lauren was, that I felt that Neal never earned her respect, that even in the last ep, she still looked down on him, even though he helped them solve cases that she barely understood. And that just rubbed me wrong. I hope that they don't go the same way with Diana. That would disappoint me.

Which is why I wish they'd done more with her character - I liked that she wasn't overly impressed with Neal until it became clear that that was ALL the writers were going to do with her character.
