The final scene of WhiCo's S1

katikat... almost didn't happen? Ha!
Quoting: "The dramatic scene between the two partners almost didn't happen. Originally, it asked for Peter to cuff Neal so as the two exited their embrace, viewers would hear the handcuff's click. It was at DeKay's request that Eastin revisit it, which ultimately produced the gut-wrenching confrontation that lives onscreen." Link
The scene was pitch perfect and it's great that Jeff let Tim convince him to change it from what he had planned - it's great when writers allow actors to be a part of the writing process - but I can't say that I wouldn't have loved to see the scene as planned: Peter says good-bye, embraces Neal and then - clickclick and Neal's in handcuffs and Peter tells him that he will NOT let him go. Yeah, it appeals to my kinky mind.
But seriously, as much as I would have loved that, the finale was perfect as it was. This would have been great as a deleted scene or an alternate ending just for the DVD, something to tickle the fans' kink, though :P

Date: 2010-04-08 01:26 am (UTC)I'm with Tim. As hot as that would have been, I don't think it would have been in character for them as partners for Peter to have made the decision for Nea. As much as we love our dominate Peter in fanfic, on the show they're much more equal and respectful of each others methods and abilities.
