Hm, that episode was kinda... weird. Oh, don't get me wrong, it was really exciting and all, I would even say the best ep of this season - I just didn't get it, not being a Hitchcock fan.
I hope that Mary's death will have some impact on Shawn, though I doubt it. These writers write good standalone episodes but character arcs just don't really work for them. I mean, Shawn is mostly still the same big irresponsible child he was in 101.
I loved the Shawn/Gus interaction in this one - when Shawn sent Gus after Juliet so that he would know that she was in good hands. And then when they called each other and Gus told Shawn that he did the right thing when he let Mr. Yin escape to save Abigail.
Abigail - I understood her reasoning but that still hurt.
Henry will now be Shawn's keeper. Ha! I'm curious how that will work out.
It was nice to see serious!Shawn for once. Loved it.
Lassiter and O'Hara - that was amazing! When Lassie told Vick that she could - basically - go screw herself, he was going to save his partner. And when he then hugged Jules!
I think I read too much into the spoilers the writers had shared before the ep aired - note to myself: for future reference, this show mostly does not live up to the hyped spoilers! They said someone would die - and sure, Mary died but I thought it would be someone closer to Shawn and Gus - and that what happened in the last few minutes would have lasting consequences for Shawn. Did they mean the break-up with Abigail? The very last scene?
Because that one I didn't get at all. I mean, if I understood it right, Shawn knew "Mr. Yang" as a kid. But how is Mr. Yin tied into that? Shawn obviously knew him too, he was probably the one who took that pic of Shawn and the Crazy. I know that it was a cliffhangery ending but when you actually don't get the cliffhanger itself... *scratches head*
So, can someone explain the ending to me? *scratches head some more*
