BBC renewed The Musketeers for S3, it will start shooting in the Czech Republic - YAY! - in April this year: link.

Awesome news! But I'm so far behind on the show that I think I'll just get it on DVD later on. Good grief, I have so much stuff to watch on DVD, like you wouldn't believe it. There's a pile in my desk and another pile ON my desk, two boxes in my desk, another two in the closet in the hall (those hold DVDs in paper sleeves, so there's literally scores of them there!) and two full glass showcases in the living room. Plus the ones that I've already watched, two large boxes under my bed! Yes, I'm a squirrel, sue me.

Season 2 returns on January 2! Don't forget. I'm marathoning S1 right now. It's really funny for me to see our Czech country and castles and towns etc. in a British show about the French musketeers. LOL!

Czech Anglo Productions are delighted to announce that the 2nd series of "The Musketeers" has today been green lit to shoot in Prague with Prep due to begin next week for a further 10 episodes.

Congratulations to everyone on our fabulous crew for all the hard work done last year to make this possible, and now to do it all over again!!

From the production company itself! And yes, it's filmed in my country, in the Czech Republic. What you see as Versailles and Paris and whatnot, it's our castles and Prague and whatnot. Awesome, isn't it?

I have yet to see even one episode because I decided to download the lot and just binge watch it once the season is done. It's just 10 episodes, after all...

Don't forget, UK BASED FOLKS! The Three Musketeers on BBC tonight, at 9pm! Gosh, Peter Capaldi as Richelieu and Santiago Cabrera as Aramis! Mwah! \o/

Also, speaking of Aramis. I really hope this show will dig deeper into his background, especially into his connection to Richelieu. AFAIK, only the movie with Chris O'Donnell ever even mentioned it. I mean, Aramis was the go-to guy for Queen Anne, it was he who helped organize her clandestine meetings with the Duke of Buckingham. How could a lowly musketeer do that? We know that he had wanted to be a priest before he joined the musketeers and since he obviously still has some very powerful connections, he must have been high-born, he must have known Richelieu personally... And yet, no adaptation EVER explored that! Gosh, I wish and hope that this time they do. Can you imagine Aramis as Richelieu's protégé? *_*

*internal screaming* This looks like a worthy replacement for Merlin, actually a successor, considering Aramis is played by Santiago Cabrera who played Lancelot in Merlin. Now just to hope it will be a) good and b) popular. It would break my heart if it were a bad dud :(

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Just... EEEEEEEEEEEEE! I want to watch so many of them! Sherlock, Quirke, The Three Musketeers, The Great Train Robbery...!

OMG! The Sherlock bit! And... The Three Musketeers look so, soooooo much better than I expected it to! Forget about Atlantis, the wannabe Merlin that - at least so far - looks utterly ridiculous! The Three Musketeers will be IT this season, the replacement for Merlin and with Santiago Cabrera as Aramis, too!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I can't wait for this TV season to start \o/

Santiago Cabrera AKA Merlin's Lancelot was just cast in BBCA's new historical adventure series The Three Musketeers as ARAMIS, my favorite musketeer! EEEEEEEEEEEE!

The Musketeers, premiering in 2014. Luke Pasqualino (Skins, The Borgias) will star as D'Artagnan alongside Musketeers Tom Burke (Great Expectations, The Hour) as Athos, Santiago Cabrera (Merlin, Heroes) as Aramis and Howard Charles (Royal Shakespeare Company) as Porthos. Together they are a crack-team of highly trained soldiers.

(...)

Set on the streets of seventeenth century Paris, where law and order is more an idea than reality, the series follows Musketeers Athos, Aramis and Porthos. They are far more than King Louis XIII's personal bodyguards. They stand resolutely for social justice, for honor, for valor, for love - and for the thrill of it.

D'Artagnan, a skilled fighter from rural Gascony, meets the three Musketeers while on a mission to right the wrong of his father's death. Although he meets the men in unfortunate circumstances, he finds kindred spirits in the other soldiers. Athos, who has rejected his noble roots to become a Musketeer, has a past shrouded in mystery. He quickly befriends D'Artagnan, but is prone to getting in trouble.

Porthos is a larger than life character, who has come from humble beginnings to become a soldier in the most elite regiment in the land, finding a family in the other Musketeers. Never short of admirers, Aramis has an effortless charm which leads him in and out of love. Despite this, he is a shrewd pragmatist who is ferocious in battle and commands a key place in the brotherhood.
