My fingers are itching!
Jan. 28th, 2010 09:18 pmI've been re-watching White Collar from the beginning - I know, I know, other shows are piling up on my HDD! - and I can't get an idea for a fic out of my head. Kinda inspired by Susan Foster's "Dark Sentinel" etc. fics? Remember those? Excellent reading, wasn't it?
Anywayz. AU setting. In this world, it's normal that sentenced people don't go to prison but they get an anklet and serve. Strong rules are in place and when the convicts violate them, they have to undergo corporal punishment - in this world, it's considered more... humane than locking someone up. Neal convinces Peter to let the prison system release him into Peter's custody which is unusual because convicts are used for manual labor, not for police/office work. Peter is now responsible for Neal, for his supervision and punishment when he breaks rules. Also, the fact that Neal's a convict comes with a lot of issues because according to the penal system, he's now a second class citizen with severely limited rights and other FBI agents don't like the fact that they are forced to work with someone like that...
This idea came to me while I was watching ep... 103. Ruiz refuses to share information with Peter because of Neal, Ruiz would prefer to see Neal in chains. More than once Peter is labeled as Neal's "keeper" and Moz remarked that Peter kept Neal on a tight leash...
Yes, for once the bunnies are working overtime!
What do you think? *tilts head*
