Spoilery musings about tonight's episode of Supernatural

So, "five go into the battle, two will not return", huh? And since the ep is called Abandon All Hope, I have the feeling that it'll be Sam and Dean. I mean, that they will actually kill Sam and Dean, with the colt even. And the next ep will be about how to get them back. And thanks to that, Dean will actually meet Michael for the first time.

What do you think? And if you know exactly what will happen? Don't tell me? I'm just thinking thinky thoughts based on the promo and nothing else.

I haven't seen anything other than last week's promo and now this link (thanks for the hook up) but I don't *think* the boys will die. After all, they've been there, done that. There's only so many times you can pull that rabbit out of the hat without it loosing all its surprise factor.

It's hard to tell exactly who the '5' are. Sam and Dean certainly. Probably Ellen and Jo. I don't think Bobby's there. There's also Castiel. But of course it could totally be someone else, too. I'm betting Ellen or Jo get the ax (I hope it's Jo - I love Ellen).

I'm thinking Mark Sheppard (from what he says in that promo) winds up on Sam & Dean's side and gets killed.

Or hey, Sam might kill himself to keep away from Lucifer, but then Lucifer brings him back, just like he said he would.

But truly? With Kripke? Who the hell knows. It should be a good one though.

I actually hope that it'll be Sam and Dean. Because no one is expecting that. They are the heroes! The two that must survie. And that would be an awesome cliffhanger!

I don't think that Mark Sheppard's character will die. For that, he's just too big a star to hire him just for one episode.

I fear that Jo or Ellen will be end up dead, though - and I really don't want to hear another bruhaha about how sexist the show is for killing female characters. I like them both but I wouldn't cry my eyes out for them. I mean, I liked Pamela but I didn't really mind her dying. I just really fear the backlash in fandom :(

I really haven't got any idea what's going to happen. I'm planning to check LJ as soon as I get up on Friday, since I won't be able to stay up tonight to see it. It's going to kill me to wait for it to download.

Your theory sounds like it could work out that way. I've been suspecting it would be Ellen and Jo, to try to hit the guys where it really hurts (them being like family). I can see Lucifer promising to bring them back, if Sam and Dean play their parts.

Whatever happens, I hope it's exciting and not a let down.

Me too! I really hope that it'll be a great ep. It looks like it :)

I would actually want them to kill Sam and Dean. It would be much more cliffhangery. And besides, I think that everybody expects Ellen and Jo to die - with the way Kripke loves killing supporting characters. Killing Sam and Dean would be pretty shocking, on the other hand :P

I don't know if I should watch the ep first thing tomorrow or after work. I wonder what would have a bigger impact on my working morale :P

I have no idea what happens but going by my gut the brothers are ironclad safe since I think the show won't kill them again, unless maybe in a Series Finale.

So, by my best guess the victims are among Jo, Ellen and Bobby. I'd peg Castiel as safe, too.

I would think so too - if it wasn't so obvious, you know? Well, with Kripke, who knows, though, right? It's just that there has to be a cliffhanger since it's a mid-season finale.
