Writer's Block: Forgive and forget?

I can forgive, but never forget. When someone crosses me, it sticks in my mind like glue and I can't ever, ever forget it. And it makes me more cautious. It's right there in my mind whenever I deal with that person again. Hey, I still remember who said what to me back in Yahoo Groups.
I'm like a turtle - I open up to people but when they hurt me, I retreat into my shell and it takes a lot to make me crawl out of it again.
