Based on the promos, I feared that it would be a silly filler but it was actually a really great episode!

Hehe, I wondered why AfterElton mentioned this ep. I didn't expect wannabe!Sam and wannabe!Dean to be lovers. And they didn't die! And they were obsessed fans but they weren't crazy like Becky. They were a nice balance to her nuttiness.

Sure, the convention was a bit jump-sharky - but Kripke so knew it with Chuck's "It's not jumping the shark when you don't come down!" XD

The ghost story was pretty clever. I mean, it was a MOTW episode but there was a good explanation for that. Sam and Dean rushed in because they thought that Chuck had some ground breaking news for them - and the case basically landed in their laps.

And I loved the little speech that wannabe!Dean gave real!Dean, especially the part about having a "brother who would die for you", that was pretty cool. And in that light, compared to their lives, Dean's and Sam's are actually pretty cool. Dean probably realized that.

Also, once again I felt the brotherly love, with Dean going all "Sam!" when the ghosts slammed Sam against the wall. But they were totally equal in it, both having their roles to play.

As I said, pretty cool! :)

ETA: Please, if you didn't like it, suppress your need to tell me. I liked the ep a lot and I want to stay in my happy place.

Thank you for this positive review and i love seeing the boys hunting together and in the end, Dean got the message about...the brotherly love.

I can see that some people might be annoyed by the convention thingy but whatever! I liked the episode even though I could have done without the fan meta. But that's Kripke, after all :)

I knew they'd be annoyed maybe because after all these seasons, they still don't get Kripke's humor.

I say whatever. I liked the ep a lot. It was funny and still suspenseful. So it's a job well done for me.

I thought it was fun, in a tongue-and-cheek kind of way. I didn't take any of it personally. When you're in a fandom, you have to be able to laugh at yourself.

So true. It made me chuckle. And Becky, despite her wacky nature, was actually really helpful in the end.

I've only seen one negative review (and OMG was it negative - only read a couple of paragraphs) and her agree-ers (what? it's a word - kinda). Everyone else was entertained and saw the show for the gentle ribbing and affectionate nod that I perceived.

I saw reviews about how sexist and misogynist it was, how Kripke is making fun of his fans, how he turned not just the women against the show with this ep, but also the man because he made Barnes and Damon gay etc. etc. The filth was really disheartening. Staying away, staying away. And when it wasn't bad/awful/cringe-worthy it was boring *sigh*

I liked the ep a lot. It was fun to watch but also it showed me the brotherly love again and it portrayed a gay couple in a really positive way - I linked a very happy AfterElton review in my Twitter. Over there, they really liked the ep :)

I enjoyed it thoroughly. I even stayed up to watch it rather than letting the DVR get it. The fake Sam and Dean were so cute!

They so were. I mean, they were actually a really great couple and it was awesome that a gay couple was portrayed as the heroes!

I love that episode a LOT! Love that reveal about the Colt, and I love it when wannabe!SamandDean said that thing about dying for your brother. I enjoyed it very much and I avoid reading the negative comments!

I thought that the ep was really awesome! All the "funny" eps this season were great, not just about the fun, but having a strong story too that I sometimes missed in the fluffy eps of seasons past. I tried to stay away from comms etc. because I feared the fans' reaction but a few negative reviews popped up on my flist too and that was harder to avoid. So I ended up not reading any reactions at all. I just don't want anyone to ruin my happy place.
