Demon hunter Maxine Kiss wears her armor as tattoos, which unwind from her body to take on forms of their own at night. They stand between her and her enemies, just as Maxine stands between humanity and the demons breaking out from behind the prison veils. It is a life lacking in love, reveling in death, until one moment and one man changes everything.
Review: Awesome. So many cool characters: Maxine, Grant, Oturu, The Meddling Man, Tracker, Byron, Sarai... I loved Grant and his relationship with Maxine - but I did feel like I was missing something, a prequel that would tell how those two met, how they fell in love... Did I miss a book or a short novel that came before? Nonetheless, I enjoyed it tremendously! Some parts were quite confusing but I think that everything will be explained later on, in upcoming books.
