Psych 1x08&1x09

1x08, Shawn vs. the Red Phantom: Shawn was really obnoxious in this one :( Maybe because I'm one of those geeks he ridiculed, his jokes felt more insulting than funny. And the way he treated Gus, ripping the comic book apart for no reason at all? That was really annoying. Mostly, I was excited to see David Nykl and George Takei!

1x09, Forget Me Not: It must've hurt that Connors believed little!Shawn but his own father didn't. Way to go Henry! And speaking of Henry, I disliked him a lot in this episode. He told Shawn to leave Connors alone and not to make an idiot of him - but who considered Connors an old fool, Henry who disregarded everything Connors said as utter nonsense or Shawn who actually moved his butt to investigate? My dislike of Henry grows with every episode.

I freely admit that those two eps were never among my favorite ones. In 1x08, Shawn behaved like a total jerk, in 1x09, it was Henry who was a jerk. But Juliet rocked, that's true!

Actually, I tend to see Shawn's assholery in 1x08 as a result of Henry's less-than-stellar parenting. Like, he obviously resents that all these other people are able to enjoy this so much, and tells himself that it's all STUPID and he's not missing out on anything. I mean, I have no doubt that Henry loves his kid. But he told his little boy to stop pretending to be a superhero. OUCH.

Ha, Henry told Shawn to become a cop - and now? Henry is scared shitless of Shawn getting hurt helping cops solve crimes. Ha! His little speech totally came back and bit him in the ass.
