Both will be heavily serialized and even though I used to love that a few years back - I was a huge fan of the old V and of Marc Singer - I now prefer episodic TV shows with overarching plots like SPN or NCIS. They both have stand-alone episodes with one solid story that stretches throughout the season like a red thread. So, I don't really know if I will watch it or not...
