Since we're talking about Star Trek already - are there any fans of the ST books on my flist? *looks around*

I found this great site that lists an awful lot of ST books - which is awesome, of course because me? I'm a tie-in lover! - and they list not only books for ST:O, ST:TNG, ST:DS9, ST:V and ST:E, but also spin-off series. Lotsa spin-offs! Which is totally awesome, watch me bounce! But I don't even know where to start! And fictionwise is having a sale for ST related ebooks and it's just too tempting!

Help me, flist?

For years I collected every novel (and other books) about ST. I still have the ones I bought though I stopped buying or reading them quite awhile (read a couple of decades) ago. I probably have about the first 25-30 of the novelization of the original series.

My all-time favorites were 'The Fate of the Phoenix' and its sequel 'The Price of the Phoenix'. These are really nothing more than novel length, cleverly disguised Kirk/Spock slash fanfiction! They're awesome! I read these, figuratively smacked myself on the forehead and said 'Duh! Kirk and Spock are so doing it!' *G*

I'm a first generation Trekkie. I loved this first run show with a passion that had my family totally shaking their heads in consternation. When it ended (pre-VCRs) I was devastated and was sure I'd never see the show again. Little did I know!

I've never really read any of the fanfic though. Don't even have an icon.

Too bad that Fate of Pheonix is sold out. Like totally. I will have to ask a friend to buy a used copy for me. It does look great!

Have only read a couple of these but the one I still have, after culling and culling paperbacks, is Enterprise: The First Adventure by Vonda McIntyre, I think is the author. I've read a few of the other series but oddly enough, though I liked the latter series better than the original, it's the books based on the original that I seem to like better.

Thank you for the tip. It's just too bad that a lot of the old books are sold out without any re-print in sight. Puh :(

I have some of those novels and from what I remember - bear in mind I read those books when I was a teenager - I'd definitely recc Enterprise: The First Adventure and Prime Directive. I also remember I was fond of Web of the Romulans.

Know what? I have the French version of those ST books and I'm thinking it might be time for me to start again, but with the English version this time :-)

I'm so miffed that a lot of the old books are totally sold out *grumbles* That's why I'm buying the SG books as soon as they come out. Just to be sure :P

The only series I read was Voyager, but for a while, I was addicted to those. I had the first 20 or so books, though some were much better than others. (I was reading them mainly for the Paris whumping, but fortunately he was usually front and center and getting beat up.) My favorite was Battlelines, which was book 19 or 21 or something.

Paris? Ha, I'm a Chakotay!girl. I loved Robert Beltran before ST:V, so I was a bit biased there. There wasn't enough hurt!Chakotay in the show.

Chakotay was my second favorite character. In which case, I doubly recommend Battlelines, since it's pretty much 75% Chakotay and Paris on their own against the badguys. And seriously slashy with the subtext too.

It's so weird when a character from one show is obviously a fan of a character from another show XD
