-> Lou Diamond Phillips was cast as Col. Telford in SGU. Hm. Too bad that he wasn't cast as Col. Nash, the show's regular character, then I would have been really excited. So far, though... Col. Telford is basically SGU's Col. Sumner, Col. Nash is SGU's Maj. Sheppard, Camille Wray is SGU's Elizabeth Weir...
And of the eight or so regulars, six are blindingly white (and blond). I mean, I usually don't notice this stuff much, but here, it's too obvious. We get the usual black brute and Asian bigwig (SGA's Tamlyn Tomita, anyone?) and that's it. People called SGA "white" but of the regular team of four members, two people were always POCs: Rachel Luttrell is of a mixed background, Rainbow Francks is black and Jason Momoa is of a Hawaiian descent - which I loved because, hey, there are other minorities than just African American and Asian.
I honestly don't know what to think. And also, there are just too many regulars for my liking. TPTB didn't know what to do with five of them on SGA, now they will have almost twice as many people... Ugh.

Date: 2009-02-25 12:22 pm (UTC)Darn they should have cast me and my dad - then they could have the white look and still say they were casting 'mixed race' (my dad is Part Native American - his face is shaped like the guy on the Indain head nickel - but his skin tone is white - My skintone is... well you know the whole thing about Snow white - Skin white as snow, lips red as blood? that be me. I look like your avrage vampire LOL)
