NCIS pilot - audio commentary

katikatI just listened to Donald P. Bellisario's audio commentary to the pilot of NCIS, titled Yankee White, and it was A-amazing! He had so much great stuff to say about the cast! Like for example:
* Pauley Perrette actually wanted to study forensics but after she had chosen acting and got the part on the show, she said that she was now living her dream, playing what she had actually wanted to be before becoming an actress :)
* Bellisario met Michael Weatherly in Australia where Michael was filming a movie about Natalie Wood. Michael went for a dinner with Bellisario and his family that lasted for over 3 hours and by the end Bellisario knew that Michael was the one to play Tony DiNozzo!
* Sasha Alexander is part Italian, part Serbian!
* Michael Weatherly is the only actor on the cast who's allowed to ad-lib stuff because what he comes up with is usually funnier than the script XD
* Mark Harmon knew that he wanted the part when he read his character's name: Leroy Jethro Gibbs!
* Mark Harmon is also an ex-jock and he has the mentality of a jock, the positive parts, of course: he never complains, not even when he's actually sick, when he needs to stay long for a shot, when he has to come in early and he is a true leader of the team of actors, he actually treats them as a team and he doesn't mind when he's not the hero of an ep for once!
* Also, Mark Harmon is a great dad - even when he returns home at 4am, he gets up at 6am to make breakfast for his sons and to spend time with them. He's very proud of his boys. Aww...
And other great stuff! XP
