I've been reading Joe Mallozzi's musings about what would have happened in S6, if there had been S6, that is. And you know, reading that, I think it'll be much better to see all that condensed into a two-hour-movie than dragged on for a whole season.

I'm talking about this part: With Atlantis back on Earth, why the hell would the I.O.A. ever let it go? And if it remained, which, by all indications seemed likely, what would become of its occupants, especially Ronon and Teyla? Also, with a permanent station in the Milky Way, wouldn‘t Atlantis, logically, cease to be a launch point for gate travel and, instead, become a research center for Ancient technology? Well, I guess you’ll never know the answer to these questions… IF you don’t check out the Stargate: Atlantis movie that goes into production later this year, that is.

I can't see Atlantis staying on Earth and the show's ratings not plummeting. The whole essence of the show is that Atlantis is based in Pegasus! If it was set on Earth... I don't know, it just wouldn't work for me. But if they will have to solve the whole thing within two hours, you know, escaping the IOA, getting back in space, dealing with Todd on Earth... The movie will have to be fast-paced whereas a show, even if this was just an arc, would have dragged eventually.

What do you think?

Yeah, I agree. Though he gave an eppy by eppy run down of season six in an older post, and although at the time we had no idea what the two part season opener would have been about, the rest of the eppys were set in Pegasus. So, now we have an idea what the movie is going to be about, which I had no clue until I read his blog.

Too bad we won't get "Sheppard DOA". That would have been cool, although done in other shows, it could have been John's "Tao" or "Shrine".

But I can't wait for the movie..sigh..guess we'll be waiting a while.

It would be so cool if I got my happy ending - Atlantis seceding from Earth completely, you know, them just packing their bags and running away from the IOA XP That's an ending that I wanted for the SGA :) Like Speranza's fic "Written by the Victors"!

And I remember Mallozzi's run-down. But that was a very preliminary list of eps - IIRC, this season, the episode Hex should have been Nr. 6 and they canned it completely in the end - so S6 might have turned out being different :(

It's just too bad that the movie isn't being written by Alan McCullough. He wrote most of my favorite eps (Outcast, Prodigal etc.) and only one ep that I didn't like (Inquisition) :(

Alex Lavine wrote "Inquisition" not Alan, which I also hated. I wish Alan or Carl would write the movie. Alan is just amazing and I gushed over his Q&A over "Outcast" when he did one. Yep, "Prodigal" was awesome.

Though all the writers are going to make passes over the screenplay. I'm not a fan of JM, but when he and Paul write together, its not bad. They wrote "Intruder" and "The Seize" part three.

I liked "TLM' and "EATG" though this ender felt rushed it was still good and Paul wrote those. Joe M has gotten better with "Broken Ties" and "Remnants" so I'm hoping together they can write a decent movie script.

It was Alex Lavine? Really? Awesome! My complete faith in Alan McCullough was restored ;P Prodigal is my favorite ep of the 2nd half of this season. We got the team, John and Rodney playing like kids, amazing action, great music, kick-ass Teyla and Amelia... \o/

I just hoped that Joe and Paul would be more enthusiastic about the movie. All you hear from Joe is that it's going slowly :( It just feels like now that they are on the SGU writing team, it's a back-burner material for them.

Though I do hope that the movie will be a success. I want to see more of Joe F.!
