I finally watched Knight Rider

katikatI finally watched the new - or not so new anymore ;P - Knight Rider movie...
First of all, the car is sweet!
Second? Stanford? Palo Alto? I had such a SPN deja vu that it wasn't even funny. I actually may have giggled myself silly. Do you think that Sarah might have met Sam there? Or Jess? *g*
The movie per se wasn't bad. I'm not excited or bouncy about it, but it was quite watchable. Though I'm not convinced about the strength of the main actors. I'm not talking about Justin Bruening aka Mike, all he has to do is look fine and kick ass. And he did the sad, kicked puppy look so good! But Deanna Russo aka Sarah... She didn't make me feel for her character. And the same goes for Sydney Tamiia Poitier aka Carrie. Maybe it was their lines or something, but I just didn't buy them.
Though the one thing I found awesome was the girl in Carrie's bed! I really hope that it does mean that she's lesbian and that they will keep her lesbian or at least largely bisexual in the show to come, that they won't try to tell us that it was her "friend" or "cousin" or something. I mean, a lesbian character like that would so hot!
I felt sorry that they killed off Mike's mother. Jennifer reminded me a lot of SPN's Ellen. They both kicked ass. I kinda hoped that they would kill Sarah's father and keep Mike's mother - it was obvious that one of them would die - but unfortuanately not. Puh :(
Also David Hasselhoff - I'm happy that they brought him back to anchor the show somehow, but it's too bad that his love for alcohol shows so much in his look :(
And Val Kilmer voiced KITT? How awesome is that! *bounces*
So, all in all, I think I will try the new series in fall. Especially since they snatched Gary Scott Thompson as showrunner and executive, the guy who wrote the screenplay for The Fast and the Furious.
