Ausiello introduced the characters of the possible NCIS spin-off. And I like them!

• Callen is an average Joe in his 30s... or so he'd have you believe. In reality, he's a human Transformer who can change personas as easily as you or I change clothes.

• Clara Macy is a tough former MP in her early 40s whose tender side shows in the way she plays mother hen to her colleagues.

• Nate "Doc" Getz, 30, is an operational psychologist who, underneath his razor-sharp wit, is as soft-hearted as they come.

• Kensi Lo is a twentysomething Asian-American whose academic record in forensics and criminology got her recruited young by the Feds.

• Sam Hanna, an African American (or Middle Eastern — depends on the actor) ex-Navy SEAL, is in his 40s and the team's only married member. So, between that and his stints in Afghanistan and Iraq, you just KNOW he can handle himself in combat.

• Dominic Vaile is a thirtysomething surveillance expert who's still experiencing separation anxiety in the wake of his exit from the Navy.

Finally a series with a mature cast! Yes, adults can be interesting too! It would be too much to hope for Joe Flanigan to play Callen or Dominic, right? *wibbles*

OOH. I'd love to see him as Dominic. *wants* I get the feeling Callen will be reeeeally difficult to cast. It could either go very, very right or horribly wrong.

OH. OH. You know who'd be awesome for Clara? Samantha Ferris. \o/

I would love to see him as the troubled Dominic too. It would give him something to show how good an actor he actually is! And for Callen? I think that they should find someone like Michael T. Weiss who played Jarod on Pretender, someone who can go from smiling to killer in a heartbeat.

Oh yes, that would have been awesome! I have faith in the producers because so far, they always gave us an awesome cast! I just hope that the spin-off will really happen *crosses fingers* I like procedurals - when they have a likable cast.

Aaargh. There's someone who'd be PERFECT at that, he's on the tip of my brain and I can't think who it is. Bugger. But you're right, Joe F would be awesome playing a twitchy troubled bloke. Very cool.

Mostly I think Sam Ferris would look hot with a crew cut. *beams* But yeah, procedurals are tricky. It IS all about the cast and their chemisry. JAG bores the piss out of me, and I never would have picked NCIS as a show I'd voluntarily watch, but man. The people in it are just too likeable NOT to enjoy it. ;)

Exactly. I found JAG really boring but NCIS... the interaction between the characters... Awesome! For example, I love NCIS and The Mentalist and I can't stand CSI and Without a Trace. It's really weird *shrugs* Maybe it's because NCIS and TM are much... lighter, not so serious. Or maybe it's the chemistry between the characters. That's why I love Eleventh Hour and can't stand Fringe *shrugs some more*

I just would love to see Joe in another action role. He loves playing the hero. Did you read his good-bye in the SG Magazine?

*wibbles with you* I think that he's one of those actors that are content with working only on one project at a time and giving it all their attention. He was obviously so happy to work on SGA - and that's one of the reasons why I hope that the SGA movie will be a success and that they will keep filming them.

Hmmmm... that actually sounds really interesting. Nice age split on the cast.

Also, Sam's actually married, that IS interesting, so long as it isn't all going to be focused on marriage!angst

Yeah, I hope that he will be actually happily married. Would be a nice change :)

The Stargate Universe should take a good long look at this list and be ashamed of their Logan's Run casting.

Yay for mature people.
