Riptide once more and Sports Night

So, I watched yet another episode of Riptide. Yes, I'm determined to finish this show before the end of the year...

Ep 309, Home for Christmas: It fits this season of the year, doesn't it? It also made me cry. This episode is not fluffy or funny at all, it's sad, very sad. I really hoped that Ben's son was alive. Though I loved the friendship that Nick struck with Ben. I could see a tag or a coda to this episode, a series of short ficlets where Nick comes to visit Ben just so that Ben's not alone. And boy, was Nick handsome in the dark coat and with the white shawl around his neck or what? 8) But I really did cry at the end, the funeral, the Christmas music... it made me sad :(

And I'm also watching Sports Night, here and there, whenever I manage to get my hands on an episode. I just watched episode 102, The Apology and let me tell you, from a Casey!girl, I'm quickly becoming a Dan!girl. He's so wonderfully messed up in the head. When he started talking about his brother on the show, when everybody stared at him with bated breath... And then Casey cracked a joke and the small smile that appeared on Dan's face... I really love this show. It's not hilarious, it's cute and I really love how crazy everybody is.

If you think the ending got you emotional, you ought to see it with the original music -- John Lennon's "Merry Xmas (War is Over)". The replacement music they used on the DVDs just can't hold a candle to it.

I never heard it with the original music but I liked the ep with the one they used anyway :) That last scene was so incredibly sad...
