I missed Sam but I do understand that Jared wasn't in this ep because he was unavailable, re-filming some scenes for his new movie, that it wasn't Kripke's choice to cut him out, that he isn't trying to diminish Sam's importance etc. etc. I'm just too used to seeing my boys together, I guess ;)

Though the scene with Sam at the very beginning was great, the look he gave his brother, careful not to wake him...

Other incoherent thoughts:
- Mary kicked major butt!
- Dean thought his mother was a babe. Ha! XD
- Mitch Pileggi! Allison Hossack!
- Young John! X)

Jensen was awesome in this. The scene where he told Mary not to get out of the bet on Nov. 2, 1983, his tears... Aww...

Great episode! I hope that next week, Dean will finally find out about what Sam's doing with Ruby, about his brother's psychic powers!

I was surprised to find that I didn't actually miss Sam that much at all. The episode plot wouldn't really have worked if Sam had been there - it needed to be Dean's journey alone. And it worked awesomely.

...they just can't get away with this kind of thing too often. And I really hope we get some real Sam payoff sooner rather than later now! I'm getting very worried for him.

I'm impressed by the ratings, considering Show was up against the Great Debate!

Well, the first time I watched it, I didn't miss him either, I was totally engrossed in the story. But when I re-watched it, I kinda missed the usual Sam and Dean scenes, the bickering, the brotherly love...

I fear next week's ratings though - GA and The Office are back and CSI starts too :(

Oh God, I can't wait to see what happens next week. I'm at my nerves end, to see Sam seemingly ignoring Dean like that. Sam better has some kick-ass explaination for what he was doing to Dean!!!

I just hope that the next ep really will be the continuation of this one, that it won't be like with, for example, Nightshifter that ended with a TBC too *crosses fingers*
