The "Skin Game" book

My, oh my, that was lame. Yes, Max Allan Collins' "Skin Game". It's a tie-in novel to Dark Angel and it takes place during and right after the series finale Freak Nation. Well, let me tell you, if the show was planned to continue in this direction, then I'm happy that it ended when it did.

You know, when I picked up this book, I thought that it would expand the main players, Max, Logan, Alec, Joshua but all we got was secondary characters - Otto Gottlieb and Agent Thompson. Those two had more scenes and got more background info than any other character in the book. Max was her usual bitchy self, Logan played the good little puppy that heeled whenever she ordered, Joshua and Alec were reduced to two scenes, other than that they were just a part of the crowd... Ick.

And you know who played Otto Gottlieb on DA? Craig Veroni who played Grodin on SGA :) I knew that I saw him somewhere before! 8)

Well, let me tell you, if the show was planned to continue in this direction, then I'm happy that it ended when it did.

I think that was along the lines of what Cameron envisioned.

Michael Weatherly proposed a storyline that would have Alec betray them all.

And I've heard the writers wanted to play it as that Max/Alec had a connection, i.e. Sandeman had engineered Ben/Alec to be Max's chosen partner - which is why her runes started coming out when Alec was near. Ultimately it was going to be Max/Alec which is why the title "Love among the runes" was supposed to be foreshadowing.

But yeah, Skin Game isn't that exciting. The other novel is slightly better. At least it has more Alec. Sigh.

Alec as a betrayer? Max/Alec? Guh! Now I'm happy that the show ended. This would have been... I mean, the snake cult thingy was already jumping the shark but this? *head/desk*

Since I've read a lot Max/Alec fanfic, I would have not minded it in the show. She might have been a bitch but they had good chemistry.

For me, Max/Logan was the OTP of this series. I liked Max and Alec as siblings :)

Hm, Max/Logan were cute for a while in Season 1 but I soon grew tired of them because Logan was so blank a character. And with the virus storyline in Season 2 their relationship stuff just annoyed me.
