A little visual aid
May. 17th, 2008 11:08 pmYes, I'm still very much in love with the movie Family Album, thank you for asking ;P I even wrote a ficlet about Lionel and Paul. And thus I decided to give you a little visual aid so that you would understand my love for a very young Joe Flanigan playing the shy Lionel...

This, my dear friends, is Lionel (Joe Flanigan).

And this is Paul (Paul Satterfield).

When Lionel was in college, Paul was his good friend, he convinced Lionel that being gay wasn't the end of the world.

And thus Lionel found himself a boyfriend, John, who died in a tragic car accident years later. Lionel was crushed.

Lionel then learned that his good old friend hit a rough spot and became an alcoholic - something Lionel just couldn't let be.

And so they finally got together...
I just love Joe Flanigan in this film. He plays Lionel perfectly. Lionel is shy but always optimistic and sunny, trying to help everybody. A very lovable character.
And even though it does seem so from my rambling, this movie isn't just about Lionel and Paul (or John for that matter), it's mostly about Lionel's parents and also about Lionel's siblings but this part, this character was what made the movie for me, what made me love it and actually buy it on DVD! I would rec this film to you if for nothing else than to drool over cute Joe Flanigan *beams*
