I finally got around to watch the two-hour-long season finale of NCIS. Two months after it aired. Go me. Not! XP

Okay, that was sad. I mean, I was spoiled for it and I knew that a character was leaving and I hoped that it would be Jenny - not that I had anything against her - and not a member of the team, but still... At least her death was truly heroic, protecting Gibbs.

I really hope that TPTB won't go down the same road as House did, splitting the team for a part of the season, let alone the whole season! On House, I didn't really mind it because I watch the show for the HousexWilson interaction, not for the team or the medical mysteries. But NCIS is my team!show. I love all of them, even though I like whumping Tony best ;P

The finale wasn't really action filled, it was more cloak-and-dagger and conspiracy but I liked it better than last year's finale. And I'm quite curious to see Gibbs new team even though I fervently hope that the old team will be back together real soon!

I would really like to buy NCIS on DVD because I know almost nothing about the background of the show which is weird for me. But the box sets are really pricey! And the US Amazon never includes them in their sales. I saw them on the UK Amazon's sale but I already bought SG-1 S1 last week so I need to wait for a bit and let my bank account recover *sigh*

Oh, and I wrote a tag to the season finale. A HET tag! Boggles the mind. Sheesh! XP

ETA: Ha, I knew why I waited with the purchase of Psych S2. It's now on sale for 32.99$ (45% discount) from last week's 41.99$!

I love Navy Nicks but being a long time viewer I will say the first two series suffer a great dilemma, at first no mcgee, and instead of Ziva there is a character called Cate who couldn't act her way out of a wet paper bag if it was already torn
the stories are good, but she really is terrible, in fact I know people who give out a cheer of relief when she replaced with Ziva, and even now won't watch the repeats if shes in them.

oo NCIS I just got hooked on that over that weekend and am currently working my way through the seasons (woo season 2 already!). It's utterly fun and fantastic with great humor and I love how they introduce McGee. And unlike the above commenter I *really* like Cate. She's a different dynamic that Ziva (I watched season... whatever on the marathon but it was after she'd left) but still fun. She and Tony bicker like brother and sister. :)

I like Ziva much better too. Kate seemed too... frail, I guess. Ziva kicks major butt and that's awesome :) But if I actually started buying the show on DVD, I would start with S1 anyway because I'm a collector at heart and I would love to have the whole series, even though the first two seasons aren't as good as the next three...

I didn't have anything against Kate. She was an okay character, she just seemed, at least IMHO, too frail for an agent. Ziva is much more tough, I guess. And I didn't see the chemistry between Kate and Tony whereas I love the UST between Ziva and Tony. I actually like the het undertones here *gasps* But mostly, it's a real team!show for me because every character is a real character of its own and not just someone's love interest or something like that.

Really? She's always seemed really kick-ass to me. Where as what I saw of Ziva is *really* tough and closed off and while I really like Ziva (she fell in love and laughed! it was so cute) idk, Kate's just kinda awesome to me. :)

See the thing is I don't ship Kate and Tony or see the UST, to me it's *really* brother and sister and how much you can annoy the other one (I speak from personal experience here). I can't wait to see more of Ziva and Tony though. Speaking of the show in later seasons though, did they manage to keep the humor? Because I've been dying laughing more than a few times watching this show. And they are! Real characters ftw!!!

Really?

Yup. The actress left the show because she found it too physically taxing. Kate just never felt like a real field agent to me. Don't know why.

did they manage to keep the humor?

Definitely. At least in my opinion. I like the show because they can do very serious plots but spice them with humor and bickering :)

Well those kinds of roles are physically taxing but *Shrugs* different takes hmm? =D

Yay! That's what really sets it apart for me, it's super funny and yet it manages to hit everything else. Yay show!
