The episode Double Your Pleasure was awesome! So much character stuff, just the way I like it!

I hurt for Nick. I mean, he tried to really talk to Cody, to make Cody see what he was doing, how blind he was to who Marcy was. And Cody didn't just diss Nick's words, he basically accused Nick of being jealous that he, Cody, won the girl for once. I mean, this ep was full of hurt!Cody - the accident - but my heart went mostly to Nick.

And the Nick and Murray stuff was so good! I loved how gently Nick smiled every time Murray tried to make him feel better. And there was so much touching between those two that I could really believe the slash there.

Oh, and the funny stuff! I adored Murray talking about skin products and what to use to not get burned. I loved the "the geeks don't tan, they burn" scene XD And when Nick and Cody just picked Murray up and carried him under the deck... That was simply hilarious!

But back to Nick and Cody. The hospital scene killed me dead, like really. Nick forgave Cody everything and even promised to save the girl. Aww... And the scene between Murray and Nick in the restaurant, when Nick told Murray that he just wanted Cody to be happy, in this kind, gentle voice... That's what I love about Joe Penny, he does these scenes in such an amazing way...

So, all in all, this episode was awesome. And it gave me so many slashy plot bunnies. Yes, emotionally hurt Nick makes my little me happy, go figure ;P

I have not time to squee about this with you until Friday, which BURNS me, cos I watched it last night too, but yeah. Nick.

Cody was such an ass to him. Imagine making your best friend cry about some damn chick you only met a couple of days ago! *grrrr*

Anyway, I've remarked elsewhere how protective Nick is of Cody... he'll take whatever shit Cody dishes out and he'll still be there for him. Dear, sweet Nick. He knows Cody's just trying to prove something, but man it hurts him.

It really pains me to see how badly Cody treats Nick. And we see it in future episodes too. And Nick just forgives and forgives. It hurts :( Though I liked the hand-holding in the hospital room :)

But the Murray/Nick stuff was awesome in that episode!

Yay I have internet access at conference, even if only in short and minimal bursts!

I know. *hissss* Cody. Yeah, the hand-holding is good, and it's also good when Murray comes in and tells them about Sheila/Marcy, and Cody just looks straight at Nick "help!" and goes "What am I going to do, Nick?" and you can just tell that he KNOWS he can count on Nick.

I wrote a character study of Mr Allen the other week... here - In which I do some exploring about how he treats Nick as opposed to Nick's more open caring...

I'll write more about that too, because Cody's defensiveness interests me, quite a bit.

Even though I HATE him being awful to Nick.

Yeah there was a lot of Nick/Murray... but I don't see Murray/Nick... I have trouble seeing gay!Murray... *sigh*

I think that I want to write a short fic, a coda to this episode, where Cody wants to go back to how it was, you know, them being friends with special privileges but Nick tells him that no, he can't do it anymore, he just can't. A really sad, mood piece. Because I think that Nick could forgive Cody anything, but I don't think that he would be able to forget the pain it caused him. I think I would let Murray speak in Nick's defense too, not angry, just in this soft, caring way Murray has.

And I'm happy that you like the icon. I decided to make a bunch of new icons for my LJ and I made three new Riptide ones :)

I REALLY want to read that fic.

Although, I do believe Nick will let it go back to how it was, because (go read my Cody character study, cos I talk about Nick and their relationship too) I think Nick sees how badly Cody needs him. I don't think that's the first time Cody's done that to Nick. It isn't the last (Canon - *hissss* Cody).

My world - Cody wants Nick, and Nick doesn't get yet that he wants Cody. Cody's "punishing" Nick (why? go to charater study - more to come too) for not wanting him. Nick loves Cody, knows he loves him but doesn't understand what Cody *wants*.

And because Cody is quite fragle and Nick gets that, Nick will do whatever he has to for Cody. However often that's required and at any cost. And that's what I see in canon.
