Of Heroes and other stuff...
Mar. 16th, 2008 02:56 pmSo, I'm all caught up on Heroes now...
Oh my gosh that was lame! *yawns* Like really. I think that the novelty of the show somehow evaporated in S2 and when the writing went downhill, not even the characters could have saved the stumbling story-line.
The story ranged from pathetic to downright ridiculous - the episode about what happened four months ago? *rolls eyes* And the characters they added? Who cares? I did not. The twins were rather annoying, just like poor poor Monica.
But who got on my nerves the most? Claire. Because obviously, it's all about the cheerleader - at least she thinks so. Who gave her the right to go public and point fingers at people with abilities? Because the misunderstood, suffering cheerleader couldn't take not being the center of everybody's attention? Sheesh!
And Peter. The man who could mentally smack around Matt couldn't dig into Adam's head to find out the truth? *head/desk*
The most annoying storylines? The old Japan one - that was way over the top, dragging and dragging with no end in sight, ending with the simple fact that Kensey is now pissed at Hiro. How glorious. Not. And then the love stories. Obviously, everybody had to fall in love, turning the series all soap-opera-ish *rolls eyes*
Oh, and even though I liked Kristen Bell in Veronica Mars, she was only so-so here. Maybe it was the role, maybe it was the lines, who knows. But I don't get why people are so over the moon about her *raises eyebrows*
Though there was one really awesome thing - Hiro burying Adam alive. Wow, that was harsh. But quite awesome. Hire grew up a lot since the beginning of S1 :)
I'm not sure if I will keep watching next season though. Maybe. But I will read reviews/spoilers first to find out if it's worth downloading.
Reasons to continue watching: Matt and Mohinder and Molly. Sylar and Mohinder - awesome chemistry there. Maybe the Petrelli brothers.
Reasons to stop watching: Pretty much everything else. I'm so tired of Nikki and Monica and the whole Bennett family *sigh*
I have a new layout! The moment I saw that behind-the-scenes pic, I knew that I would make a header out of it. And I also wanted something with pastel colors. Something easy on the eyes...
Today, I received a notification that someone added my "Horrors of the Past" fic to their favorites over on ff.net. My reaction was O.O I have a story called "Horrors of the Past"? Really? In what fandom? When did I write it? And what is it actually about? *head/desk*

Date: 2008-03-16 03:44 pm (UTC)I also agree about Kristin Bell's character. All these reviews and whatnot said how awesome Elle was, and when I was watching it all I thought was. "What the hell did they watch that I am not seeing?" I mean, she had a cool ability, and she had quite the attitude, but... That didn't equal some awesome, amazing character to me. I think it may have just been the writing for the character though, since the rest of them were sorta whacky also.

Date: 2008-03-16 04:31 pm (UTC)I would love to see more Mohinder+Matt+Molly because they are such an awesome little family. I would love for Kring to actually make Mohinder and Matt a couple. He promised the fans homosexual characters - after that whole mess with Claire's high school friend - but zip so far *sigh*
I don't get why people are so obsessed with Elle and for example Sylar too. Sure, Sylar is an interesting character but rather poorly used in this season. If he wasn't there at all, nothing would have changed because he had nothing to do with the main storyline :(

Date: 2008-03-16 06:12 pm (UTC)I love Matt, Mohinder and Molly as a family also. It's nice that they used Matt as a father figure of sorts to Molly, after the fiasco with his wife and the pregnancy. And its nice to see Mohinder have something to do with the heroes, instead of just his fathers work dealing with them. I like him having more of an investment than only that.
I think the introduction of Elle was mainly for the sake of Peter. Elle was probably the only one that could hurt him (with electricity) without getting close enough to him for him to obtain her power, or to even know she was there and had a power. Does that make sense? lol. And with Sylar. His character was bleh this season. I understand they were trying to weasel him out of the show, but letting him have his seasons stay. Before the strike, Sylar was going to be killed off, for good. Quinto is in the new Star Trek movie, and he wouldn't have been able to tape for both. So he was being written out of Heroes cuz of the conflict. But, even knowing that doesn't make up for the lack if point in his story for the season. And, I am not sure the twins were so utterly important also, that they needed to twine their stories together. I think of all the new heroes last season, Maya and her brother were the least interesting.
